Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include localStorage, pixels, and scripts. This Cookie Policy explains how www.seediy.com (SeeDIY / Weekend Woodshop Plans) uses them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. How we ask for consent
When you visit, a banner lets you Accept or Reject non-essential cookies.
Your choice is stored in your browser under the localStorage key seediy_consent
and exposed to scripts as window.seediyConsent (accepted or rejected).
Future analytics or marketing tags must check that value and run only after Accept.
To change your choice later: clear this site’s data in your browser, or use the “Reset cookie choice” control linked from this page once published, or email us and we will point you to the steps. You can also block cookies in your browser settings (some site features may then break).
3. Categories
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, bot protection, load balancing, basic page delivery, remembering your cookie choice | Always on (exempt where the law allows) |
| Analytics | Understanding traffic and content performance (not currently installed) | Only after Accept |
| Marketing / advertising | Conversion measurement and ads (for example a future Pinterest Tag — not currently installed) | Only after Accept |
4. Cookies and storage we use or may use
4.1 SeeDIY (first-party preference)
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
seediy_consent |
localStorage | Until cleared | Stores Accept / Reject so the banner does not keep asking and so marketing scripts stay blocked after Reject |
4.2 Cloudflare (security / CDN on seediy.com)
Cloudflare may set the following cookies on our domain when their security features are active. Names verified from Cloudflare’s public documentation:
| Name | Category | Typical duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Strictly necessary | ~30 minutes of inactivity | Bot management / Bot Fight Mode — helps distinguish humans from automated traffic |
cf_clearance |
Strictly necessary | Challenge Passage setting (often minutes) | Records that you passed a Cloudflare challenge so you are not repeatedly challenged |
__cflb |
Strictly necessary | Session / short-lived | Load balancing — keeps you on a consistent server where used |
cf_chl_* (challenge platform) |
Strictly necessary | Short-lived | Supports Cloudflare’s challenge / CAPTCHA flow when triggered |
More detail: Cloudflare Cookies docs.
4.3 Static page hosting
Our public pages are served by Cloudflare Pages. This static website does not include sign-in, checkout, or funnel forms. Cloudflare may process technical request data and use security-related cookies where needed. No analytics or marketing scripts are bundled with these pages. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
4.4 ClickBank (after you click an affiliate link)
When you follow an affiliate link, you are redirected to ClickBank’s tracking domain (for example ClickBank’s HopLink domain) and then to the vendor. ClickBank states that its HopLink tracking uses cookies (and other methods such as device signals / Hop IDs) to attribute referrals and commissions. Those cookies are set in ClickBank’s / the vendor’s context, not by our consent banner. We do not control their cookie names. See ClickBank Privacy Policy and ClickBank’s HopLinks documentation.
4.5 Pinterest Tag (not installed yet — listed for future consent)
If we install the Pinterest Tag later, it must run only when window.seediyConsent === 'accepted'.
According to Pinterest’s help documentation, the Tag may use cookies including:
| Name | Category | Typical duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
_pin_unauth | Marketing | Up to 1 year | Groups actions for visitors Pinterest cannot match |
_epik | Marketing | Up to 1 year | Helps match visits from Pinterest ads |
_derived_epik | Marketing | Up to 1 year | Stores a match found without existing cookies |
_pinterest_ct / _pinterest_ct_rt / _pinterest_ct_ua | Marketing / related | Up to 1 year | Pinterest measurement / in-app related identifiers |
_pin_aem | Marketing | Up to 1 year | Used with automatic enhanced match in some regions |
